OK. I may wait a bit to take the plunge, but I need to do it sooner or
later.
What we really need ultimately is an installer where all of the
following "just works" without hassle:
- I can compile my FO (or whatever Hans' modification is called) files
- I can access my OpenType and AAT fonts (like Hoefler Text)
- I can get reasonably designed default output for common document
types (no writing code to support basic semantic structures)
I always get tripped up on this stuff with ConTeXt (and only manage
with LaTeX because I spent a ton of time figuring out TeX fonts and
LaTeX font-handling awhile back), and just don't have time to figure it
all out.
I suppose the further evolution of ContML and foxet will likely address
much of the above though.
